Having said that, I did like this list of "appealing boss behaviours" -

- Always has time to talk
- Turns mistakes into teaching opportunities
- Keeps you on your toes
- Doesn’t micromanage
- Has consistent expectations
- Has high expectations
- Conducts formal performance reviews
- Communicates clearly and directly
- Is decisive
- Takes responsibility
- Will fire you without hesitation
